Dome light housing (interchangability?)

I'm going to get my cars headliner redone and I was wondering if there's another model of mopar or any other car that looks the same for the housing/lens, but uses a festoon style bulb?

I want to use an LED in it and the 1004 LED's seem to be too tall or don't work well.

Anyone?

The housing would be pretty easy to modify and mount a festoon style bulb in it with the same stock lens.   Since all the factory wiring is hidden under the headliner I would think you could make a few holes to hold the new wires and bulb.

I have a Shoreline Marine 1004 LED, got on Amazon.
A little expensive, $13, but fit and function has been perfect for 3 years now.
