Hello Guys:
Got another question...As I am finishing the build of my 70 Challenger RT 440 4-spd car, I had a locksmith look at my glove box and trunk lock assemblies. He said there is no way the same key is used for both. Can anyone tell me if the two locks were supposed to use the same key?

I'm pretty sure they are the same?     The round key, right?

kent_goins

yes round key...locksmith said the side longitudinal grooves in the locks were different. Very strange. Just looking for verification if this was supposed to be the case. My resto guy thought they should be the same as well.

Round key fit from the factory, same as trunk.

Mine work work the round key.   :bigthumb:

Pentastar key = door and ignition
Round key = glove/console/trunk
Growing older is mandatory...growing up is optional.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

These often get mixed up , but should be the same key & were from the factory
glove box doors & difficult to take apart without a key , there are a couple of different keyways from different years so that could be a part of the problem .
I worked on a lot of these as a locksmith
