Heater box alignment to ducts: BIG GAP problem

Thanks for the advice and the photo. The repro bracket arrived today. I bent it just like your photo and it worked perfectly the first time. I did use one of those extended claw tools to hold it in place through the gap while I got the mounting screw to engage it. This way I didn't have to pull the entire box out again. Nice and slugly mounted now.

I agree, my AAR is the original heater box and it has always had a gap, always wondered why, can't get it to go away so it's staying, not like it would ever really get used anyways other than as a cold air duct. As an FYI, my dash has never been out either so it came that way.
