Heater Box Issue

I am working on restoring the heater box from my 1970 Cuda (non-A/C).  The housing half shown in the pictures below are of an area where a portion of the housing was broken off (see circled area in the photo).  Anybody have a similar picture of an undamaged housing so that I know what the profile shape should be in this area?  What would be the best approach to fixing this area (fiberglass?, squaring up the broken edge and gluing a piece of plastic on and then fiberglass over the top?, other ideas????)?

They make a replacement if you want to go that route.  Then you can reproduce the date stamps.
