Instrument buttons

How do these buttons come off?  My instinct is to just pull on them, and I did try that, but i did not pull very hard since i don't want to break them.  These are the trip odometer reset and the clock setting knob.

Isn't there a tiny screw in the front of the knob that attaches it , flat blade I think.

Don't pull on them, there is a tiny screw inside of them holding then in place. Use a precision screwdriver
