Interior roof rail trim clips

Which of the trim clips is inserted correctly?

The bottom one is correct, but the top one is just as common to find when dismantling cars...if you ask me, the top one is a lazy line workers way of getting the job done faster because it simply pushes in .

So what is the trick to installing these clips in the trim?

I think they slide in from side is how I did it.I used a little WD40 for it to slide easy.

Yup, just slide them in from the end....or take the lazy route and just clip them in as shown above
