I was wondering if anyone has any pictures and/or tips on removing the AC duct that runs under the driver side.  I need to trouble shoot some dash items and I'm hesitant to jump in and pull it out as i understand its a pretty rare item.  I see one Phillips screw to a bracket in the middle and what looks like a metal clamp on to the ducting inside the dash under the ash tray.  What I'm really unsure about is how it connects to the vent next to the AC/Heat controls.  The FSM is a bit too vague for my tastes.  It simply says remove duct and the schematic is not as clear for me. Any help or tips would be great.

As far as I know it's just a push on. I removed mine years ago when we removed the A/C so we my memory is a bit vague. I can't recall if there's a friction fit clip between the duct and the vent.

You're correct. It just pushes on and held on by a little clip on each end and the one screw on the bottom of the dash frame.

Remove the screw, little tug on the far left end toward the firewall, lower that end & light tug on the duct toward the drivers side... Done..

Great that's a relief.  I was worried it would be more involved.

Running the car out of gas has motivated me to finally pull the cluster and replace the voltage regulator!
