Rear 6x9 speaker installation

I took my car apart ages ago.  Started restoring and putting it back together and I am working on the interior.  I put the 6X9 rear speaker in the cutout from the inside, and it does not fit the opening.  Do the rear speakers mount to the underside of the package tray (from the inside of the trunk)?  Also, what are the correct screws for installing it?  My MMC-Detroit Fastener handbook
says #8-18 x .86 long Pan Head Silver Zinc finish Phillips screws for the front speakers, but doesn't say anything about the back speakers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You are correct, they mount under can't remember the screw size I used, obviously they were too big so just took a cut off wheel to them lol

Thank you for the info, RDchallenger!  I mounted them from underneath with #8 screws.  Worked like a champ!  Now on to the rest of the interior!!!
