My seat belts are pretty dirty and one has some rust on it . I have clue how it got rust on it.
Any advice on cleaning them ?

I throw them in a bucket of water and detergent for at least 24 hours. They will be filthy. After the soaking I scrub them with a scrub brush and hose them off. Ten hang them to dry.

I had a very dirty seat belt that I soaked in dawn dish soap and hot water for a couple of days, came out almost new looking. any mild soap should do.

Put them in an old pillow case and throw them in the washing machine. If they are faded, you can re-dye them.

I soak them in soap.  Then power wash them.  Turns out like new.

I used https://www.homedepot.com/p/Homax-4-0-12-Pad-Steel-Wool-Super-Fine-Grade-10120000/100212006 and it helped get rid of some rust.

How are the plastic pieces?  Do you need to restore them?  I can offer some tips on those pieces.

Tips on the plastic would help too.

I took the buckles apart and removed them from belts then mixed up a big pot of oxy-clean and water then soft boiled them for about 5 minutes. Came out looking new. Removing the buckles is quite the chore but once you figure it out, it isn't that bad.
