Braking system

hello there i have a quick question for you all i am doing a 392 hemi swap i have 12in willwood brakes on all four corners and i was wondering what are you all using for a braking system. are you using a Manual, vacuum, hydro-boost, or electric brakes. how does it feel how do you like each system

I have the factory 11.75 disc and 11" drums.
Converted to the later aluminum MC, manual works great for me.

70 Challenger with a 340 here.  My car originally came with power drums on all 4 corners.   I did a disc brake conversion for the front and kept the drums on the rear.   Frankly, several years after getting the car back on the road I'm still fighting through an inadequate vacuum supply issue for the power brake booster.  I haven't been able to figure out if it's because of the cam (I don't have any history on it) or a leak on the intake manifold.  I added an electric vacuum booster to the system which gave terrific stopping power at the expense of brake feel.

I would guess/hope that you won't have a vacuum supply issue with a modern engine, but if you keep your stock booster make sure your vacuum supply to the booster is in the 16-18 inches of mercury range or you will be joining my troubleshooting party.

My 74 came with factory front disc rear drum and power booster and a 318 2barrel.  It has a 360 now in it and i had a Mopar Purple cam and it did not make enough boost in traffic to be safe.  Not to mention it shook the car at idle...

So, i switched to Lunati Voodoo 703 cam and with it the car makes about 10 psi at idle and as much as 16 under throttle.   While 10psi is low compared to a stock engine it operates the factory booster just fine..   Great pedal feel and easy to lock them up if needed.  It still has a lumpy idle but much much better than the Mopar Purple.

I have a 70 Challenger, upgraded to 4-wheel disc and then added Hydro-Boost. I highly recommend the Hydro-Boost with your setup; it gives it a more modern look & feel and way better braking.
And bonus, it gets rid of some under hood clutter and don't need to mess with vacuum availability.
