ECU and PDM location?

Getting ready to drop a 5.7 in my Challenger and having a hard time visualizing where to mount the ECU and power distribution module.
Using the factory Mopar wiring harness.
My car has factory AC, so not any room on firewall.
Its looking like it needs to be inside car, but not seeing any room

Need some pics/ideas from those of you that have figured it out.

If you're using the factory AC box inside the car it will definitely create a challenger finding room inside the car with out major changes to the wire harness. I got both my ECU and PDM inside the car, but I moved the Vintage Air box over to create more room inside...

Thx for the reply, that is exactly what I was afraid of.
I read your thread and saw the ECU location.
Any pics of where you mounted the PDM?
I need to figure something out, already in over my head, don't want to spend another $1500 adding Vintage Air when I already have a factory system.

I put the PDM over where the driver's vent vent box would be on a non-AC car, but I notched the the brake pedal thing to allow the wiring to pass through it...

The first car I did was an AC car, so there was no driver's side vent...simply added four nutserts and mounted the PDM over there in the corner.

The current resto-mod I'm building did have a vent box, so I made this nifty little plate that will just bolt in it's place. (I'm running vintage AC as well.)  AC wasn't initially in the plans for this car because it's a convertible, but like you....I was wondering where the heck I was going to put the ECU...the wiring is only "so long" options become limited. Even the factory non-AC box takes up a lot of room, so I went again with Vintage AC.

Here's the notch in the brake pedal thingy...it doesn't interfere with the function at all, and allows the PDM wire harness, along with the power cable wire, to run along the inside of the firewall to the box in the driver's side corner...

In my case, this set-up had the two studs on top for manual brakes which I didn't need, so I just loped them off as well...  :takealook:

That's a lot of good info, lot to digest.
At this point I guess I'm going to remove the dash and try and see where the ECU might fit with the factory AC box, but I'm not hoepful.
As you did, looks like the PDM can go by drivers side vent location or maybe glove box area.

I hate to have to do it, but I'm thinking my only option will be to extend the wiring on the main harness to the ECU.
That would be a nightmare, must be at least 50 or more wires going through that comnector.
With a longer harness, I could put the ECU under the passenger seat or maybe even behind the back seat.
