Hi Everyone,

I finally had some time to get some pics online. Here she is, my numbers matching 70 RT/SE 440 with A/C, P/S, P/B, P/W, the car is so loaded she has two fender tags. I just started the process of swapping out all the incorrect parts. According to Galen (unless I'm reading this wrong), there is a 95% chance that this is the only RT/SE 440 with all these options or as he puts it, a 5% chance of finding another one.

She will be going in for a paint job soon... as well as have her luggage rack re-chromed.

You're going to paint your Challenger?  It looks really good already.   Very cool 440 with a ton of neat options.

Hi Cuda,

Hard to tell from the photos, but there are small bubbles of rust down both sides of the car along the bottom as well as a few small bubbles of rust around the front and rear window. There are also air/rust? bubbles under the black top.

She was painted once before ten years ago, so this new paint job won't hurt the value of the car.

Great looking car. The colours really work well on that car.

Welcome Michael! You have a beautiful Challenger! I am a little partial as I also owned a 70 RT/SE though it was a 383. Awesome cars for sure! I also lived in Boca in the early 80's when IBM was huge there. Beautiful place to live.

Glad you found us.  :welcome:

the problem, as I see it, is with people's desire to brag about their 1 of 1 car - it would be harder to find a pair of identical cars considering all the available colors & tens of thousands of OPTION combinations on a vehicle that a few thousand were made.

your example 1970 R/T SE 3,979 built
20 exterior colors
4 available engines
7 radio & speaker combinations
5 side view mirror configurations
3 glass choices

one car in each of the above combinations would equal 8,400 cars (double the number of R/T SEs)

and I left out
transmission
vinyl top
stripes
interior
wheels
tires
and all the OPTIONS that are yes/no: A/C, rocker mouldings, luggage rack, bumper guards, locking gas cap - the list goes on & on ....

Beautiful Challenger!  Gotta love the R/T SE cars!
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

All I an say about the SE is they should have had mandatory dual door mirrors  this should never have been an option !!

Ha, ha and those darn 70 right mirrors usually drooped or were loose anyway.
