Well someone left the door open so here I am.  >:D
Wanted a 71 Cuda 340 auto convertible since High School. Graduated in 1980 bought my first car, a 1969 Barracuda Fastback.
2 more fastbacks and then a powder blue 72 Barracuda 318 Black vinyl top. These were in order $800, $600, $100 and $500 each and all were drivers.
Then in October of 1987 I was reading Auto Trader as I did every week when I spotted a 70 340 Cuda convertible in Mount Lake Terrace. Called, went over to have a look and bought a basket case project car for at the time was a lot of dough for a project car... $5875. The 340 was gone and in it's place was a 440 with tunnel ram and 3x2barrels, no, not Mopar... Corvette Tri-power  :crying: still had the matching # A833 4-speed, 456:1 8-3/4 sure grip, no top, extra set of tail lights cut into the tail panel, door dinged to death but no rust... The 440 had 13:1 compression and needed race or av gas. I had a 340 that I was going to put into the 72 Barracuda but it now had a new purpose. A friend did all the body work and paint in 1988 for $3K. It got new carpet and upholstery. The bumpers, mirrors, belt moldings were re-chromed, new soft top, new convertible boot that cost as much as the top with glass back window $200! Today it still has all the original interior panels and dash pad. Fast forward to 2013 it was time to redo the 340. Now stroked and bored to 418 full roller. 2014 new paint. Still wearing the soft top from 1988 and still the original EF8 Ivy Green Metallic. Still not finished... close but side tracked onto another project. Father Son Project 69 Barracuda Fastback for the next generation Mopar junkie my son Dylan. His first car will be a 69 Barracuda too. But his will have a brand new G3 Hemi. It goes into Body Shop Jail Tomorrow.
Life is good.  :)

It's better if you are lucky enough to drive one of these Mopars!  :ohyeah:

Was hoping you would find us Randy!  Cool story.  Can't image running 13:1 compression.  That must of made a lot of power on the race fuel.

When F8 is done right, it's a mighty nice color.   :1place:
