Great story and good luck on getting your Trans.

BTW, what's a Walla Walla?    :D

:welcome:  Beautiful Challenger!! I hope it's known at the time of the auction that it 'belongs' with your car and no one bids on it. after all, its just a 727 that anyone could really pick up much easier than say a Hemi

Well, I didn't get the transmission at the auction. I bid it up to $1000 and a online bidder took it for either $1100 or $1200. I just couldn't justify paying over a grand even though it was the original transmission for my car.

I don't have a numbers matching or original engine in the car so it just wasn't worth it for me.

Man, I was so bummed when I heard an online bidder got it.  I was willing to pay more for then what it sold for as I know those are special transmissions, but I did not even place 1 bid because I knew you were there to buy it.  So sorry you did not get to buy it.  That really sucks.

Sorry to hear you could not purchase your #-matching trans! But as you seem to be very ok with that, we should feel so, too.

That's a shame. If it was mine I probably would have kept going to $3k or so but that's a personal choice.

I have to agree with Sheldon on this one. If I knew I was not taking it home, the guy bidding on it was going to pay dearly for "my" transmission.  :alan2cents:

While I agree, what kind of Mopar guy purposely outbids another knowing that it is his cars numbers matching trans?  If it was me, it should be given to @JP426 for a fair price by default.

A great big MOPAR welcome from SoCal!! Beautiful Challenger, love the color.   Thanks,   Al

Well, it's all water under the bridge now. I have had a non-matching engine and a non-matching transmission in the car since 1985. I would have liked to have the original transmission but was unwilling to spend lots of money to get it.

I don't know if the online bidder knew it was a matching number transmission for my car. In the end, he wanted it more than I did.
