I have one too, and it's still attached to the original carb.  I'd prefer not to separate them, perhaps you need a carb too?  I don't recall the # at the moment, but I know it's off a automatic car.

I have a Carter AVS 4937S.
It's from a 70 Cuda 340 Auto with A/C from California
I think I got mine working well except for the Fast Idle Solenoid.
I found a rebuild kit for it and replaced the Accelerator Pump because of a off idle stall. That mostly went away. It's running good now but that is the last thing I need.
I took my Solenoid apart and checked it with a Ohmmeter and it shows open.
JS Restorations can restore it but it would have to rewire the core and that would cost  too much.
It will run fine without it, but I'm trying to make it right.
