70/71 Hinge covers

Hello,

I am looking for a set of hinge covers for my 71 Challenger seats, I would take 70 or 71.

Aren't 70 and 71 different hinge cover designs? I think it is 70 and then 71-74.

the 1970 style (potmetal hinge covers) were still being used until somewhere around December '70 / January '71 of the 1971 model year

it probably varied by plant & by color of seat as existing inventory was used up - anyone have good solid info of 12/70 or 1/71 cars with one or the other version?

e-bodies abandoned the plastic seat backs during 1972 or 1973 (b-bodies were still using them)

Its an early 71 car, but the seats are definitely of the 70 design. I doubt they are original, but I am just going to tell myself that they are fine since it's an early car.

Problem is just that there is not a single hinge cover left, so to get in the back you need a screw driver to unlatch the seats, which doesn't happen often, but it's annoying non the less.

It's funny you say that....throughout all my years of restoring these things I always thought 70-71 used the same metal hinge cover....I guess most of the cars I've come across were early builds like Dan pointed out...I have done a couple with the plastic covers now..
