Hi all - I'm looking for a 3.55 Sure Grip 489 center section but will entertain a 742.  Would like a drop-in ready diff with no noises and good clutches but will consider rebuildable cores.  Hopefully within driving distance of Vancouver, WA.  Any leads appreciated!  Thanks!!  :soshelp:

Did you see the huge pile of 3rd members that Snobar had?    ;)

I didn't!  It certainly falls within driving distance!

Depending on how much you want to spend. Doctor Diff and Mancini racing offer them any way you want it.

I was thinking the same thing.  Used center sections seem to go for nearly what a new diff can be picked up for.  Thanks @Shane Kelley

...at least it seems that way with 3.55 gear sets with the 1-7/8" pinion!  :bigmoney:

Unless you're into dragging the car more, I don't know if I'd go the 3:55's. Mine has 3:23's and it's turning 3200 rpm at 65 mph roughly and they're not giving the gas away these days. Just my  :alan2cents:

I go back and forth between 3.23 and 3.55 as my favorite gears.

What are you running now?  @wanderlustin

How short are your tires? With 3.23 gears, trans in 4th (1to1) 3200 rpm's at 65 MPH means your tire is about 22.5" tall.... Which I seriously doubt so I think your tachometer needs to be calibrated...

With a 27" tire & everything else the same you should be spinning 2650ish RPM's..
