the AAR's are not suppose to have the fish gills? from what I have learned from this forum is that is not accurate :foul:

Only `71 `cuda models had fender gills

Had me worried there for a minute.  At the Mopar Nats a few weeks ago, the official merchandise tent had some purple AAR models for sale that must have been leftover from a past Nats and I couldn't resist buying one.  Seeing this thread I was afraid my model had incorrect rocker gills.
Just checked, it's a Supercar collectibles model and has no gills.  Phew!

@torredcuda I was referring to the rocker panel moldings. 1970 'CUDA models have what is referred to as the fish gill moldings, the AAR models did not have them. I believe it had to do with the side exhaust heat. 1971 was the fender gills.  :alan2cents:

The AAR 'Cudas had no rocker moldings to cut down on the weight.  They were supposed to be race cars so weight reduction was important.  Like wise they had no chrome or metal fender moldings either.

303 Mopar - does your blue AAR have the correct 1970 front valence or the incorrect 1971 valence with the lower turn signals that the early release of these Highway 61 cars came with?
