I'm looking for a decent used coolant overflow tank with bracket and cap. I know they were only offered in 73 and 74 but I'm going to put it in my 71.

74 only.  Good luck with your search.  I'm pretty sure they are reproduced if you can't find an original one.

I ended up buying a repro one for the later years. I had to make spacers to fit the bracket but I like the final look.

Why? The water in the overflow tank will not help the engine with the cooling.

You can keep the radiator full w/o having it leak on the ground.  I made mine using the windshield washer reservoir.  Works great and stealthy.

A lot of strips & tracks require them now.

I believe all race tracks require them, and no anti freeze.  :alan2cents:

I'm happy with the look and function but I had to install it about 1-1/4" furthe back from the radiator support than how it was designed. I installed my hood a couple days ago and found out it hits the lid of the tank by being about 1/4" too high. I'll have to modify something so the hood easily closes.
