Looking to Locate a Mopar X Block in decent shape for a 340 stroker build. Let me know the condition, price and Location for shipping if you have one or know of one for sale.

Thanks

Hi, I've got a Keith Black 340 Race X Block (4.155 x 4.0 I believe). Not sure what year it is. It came with my car when I bought it. I had the complete engine redone and was told that for the horsepower I wanted I would have to either sleeve it, fill it or get a new block. The block was estimated to handle up to 600hp if nothing was done to it due to the boring that was completed on it. More if you did the prior to it. I also have the matching crank. I decided to start over with everything. I switched gears on my plans.

Do you have a Price, condition (is it new standard Bore) and willing to ship?

Thanks

Sorry for the late response. Correct it is a 434. I would say the condition is good to excellent. I was told these Keith Black X blocks pull 1k but I don't know. If someone else has any input please chime in. I am located in Florida so not sure what shipping would be or how to ship it but I am willing to listen.

If it will only handle 600 hp, did sonic testing the bores show that?  Or just a rule of thumb not enough meat left at 4.155 for over 600hp?

The big bore has concerns. And that will alter the price vs other smaller bore X-blocks.  This is like the value of a std bore production block vs. a .040 block or .060 block. And needing custom piston bore will limit audience too.

I believe the builder was doing a rule of thumb decision. I had a Pro Charger application adn he thought it would only be good to 600hp max if you don't sleeve it or do something. He felt the walls would be too thin for anymore over that. That's all the info I have.

Understood

Would make interesting big cubic inch street motor with relatively mild build. Like with 4.125" stroke and still be over-square bore vs stroke. ... Maybe a 4.25"

Agree. I currently have a 447 ci small block. If yo udidn't see one of my other posts my car was damaged by an asshole, lied to the attorney adn got away with paying $0.00 for the $10k damages. So it is being reapired right now. I'm not sure what I am going to do with it when it is fixed.
