Who's the guy that has all the fasteners and plugs at Moparfest? Seems to me he's from down in the Hamilton/Niagara area. I wonder if he would have them.

I'm no "expert" but it looks to me like a regular thread cutting nut is pressed into the acorn part?
Thinking if you had them , maybe you could just replace the nut part?  :notsure:

Then the "non-purist" part of me says .... like who is going to see that after its installed?

That would be Nick, I've known him for years, I haven't asked him lately, but I know before he never had any, could be worth a phone call I guess...thanks

Perhaps these? https://www.partsmix.com/products/1970-71-cuda-side-marker-light-to-housing-zinc-wax-sealer-oe-correct.html
Well, the simple fact that they list them for both 70-71 Cuda and Challenger tells me they have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE of what they are talking about and they are totally MISLEADING the buying public, and I feel sorry for anyone buying these for their Cuda project.

Cudas take self cutting nuts
Challengers take the machine thread nuts.

EDIT: Reading their ad again, these could be the smaller ones required to attach the cuda side marker lights themselves to the housing, and NOT the marker light bezel to the body....hard to tell size from the picture, although the smaller ones are NOT used of Challengers either..

I don't care if the nuts are brand new, I was hoping someone might have some leftovers from their parts stash, can confirm they are self cutting and willing to mail them to Canada...

Those Partsmix ones are the smaller size used on the marker lights, not the larger size used on the housings. I contacted someone selling those asking if they had the larger ones and their reply was, " There's only one size used to attach the marker lights to the housings".
Edit: I just read your edit which you wrote after I posted.

Alan, doesn't Sylvain have any left from that bin you sold him, what, 5 years or so ago, I'm sure you asked him already, just reminding you in case you didn't.

I believe the ones you're looking for were also used on '72- '74 Challenger fender louvres. You can imagine how many people removed those from their cars and kept them around. Maybe that'll help widen your search.

YUP, first person I contacted, he "doesn't have any he can sell" whatever that means... :pullinghair:
