I really need this  book as I never took the car apart. Does anyone have the book " guide to ebody fasteners " I can't spend the big bucks they ask for this book. I was hoping someone has it downloaded on line or a copy they can send out and I can make a copy of it? One of  the Internet would be the best.

I've got that book and it comes in handy.  There's no perfect book, but David Wise does a good job getting as close as he can to perfect.

Is he selling a digital version yet?  Maybe it's only hard copies right now?

A close friend lent a copy to me while I did an underhood resto and complete drivetrain rebuild on my vert last year and it came in handy. I couldn't imagine what it would take to digitize that big book as a favor.

Just ask your questions on here....I have a copy of that book, but I've probably only looked at in twice...

It's nice to have a hard copy in the shop. It's all the little bolts I'm not sure about. Like the ones that hold the headlight bucket mounts to the radiator support on a 71 Cuda.  There a small bolt with a big washer. Also can't find out how the L bracket is from there to the support as well. Does it go on  the outside or inside of the plate. Little things would come in handy

The book doesn't help with how things go together, just sizes and types of fasteners used.  No part numbers (if I recall correctly) so it really works best if you already have a bunch of nuts and bolts and need help identifying them.

One the best people in the world to learn about how things go together is probably Alan.  I've learned a lot from him and he freely answers pretty much any question.   :alan2cents:

@Shoooter @Cuda Cody
For example:

On a 1971 Cuda the headlight mounting plates require: (16) 1/4-20 X 1" bolts with a 1" spin washer, (4) 1/4-20 clip nuts, (4) 1/4-20 Nuts with 1/2" spin washer.

These bolts are the exact same as the ones used to mount the rad.

The two "L" brackets, one long, one short per side attach to the mounting plate with the clip nuts/bolts. Clip nuts on the mounting plate. The other end mounts to the rad support with the nut/bolts with the nuts on the engine side.
Ther rest of the bolts go into the weld nuts on the fenders.

Alan has the entire book already in his head.  :)

Is this the correct way for the L bracket or does it go on the inside. Also is there any place that sells those bolts in Canada alan?

anlauto

Well....That's not how I've seen them mounted in the past, but obviously that way works too. I just it would have been up to the line worker that day.

In Canada you could try Nigel Mills at National Moparts ? I don't know if there is a "kit" ? I buy my hardware in bulk from R/T Specialities  :ohyeah:

Spae Naur in Kitchener, Ontario are a pretty good source and I believe you can see their catalogue online as well. They also carry rubber goods and other things and I'm sure they'd ship. Not in BC, but the best I could do.

I collect fasteners as wrong ones drive me nuts. If I don't have a correct one we have a PicnPull here that I scour. They generally don't have old Mopar cars but they usually have old Dodge Vans and Pick ups.
When a hood is popped, rad caps, rad tanks, fasteners and wiper motors hit you before you check anything else out I find.
