Its my friends car and it has a 440 stroker in it.  I know the car well, very straight and free of rust.  The car is VERY fast, maybe to fast for the street.

I'm on track to have 55k into my car and I know it will only be worth 35k so I am interested in your opinions. I also dont have a lot of time anymore to finish it as I have two babies and my adopted son whose 6 has autism so I get little garage time.  I have the parts to finish my car, but will be into it for 55k as I will be paying for someone to finish it.  My car is a 340 real cuda and his car was originally a 318 barracuda.

I will lose 6-9k if I sell my project, but that may be better than being behind 20k and not even knowing if that will be enough.  Plus his car is super fast...something I enjoy.  His car has all of its original sheet metal.   

He gave me a number but I dont want to share it as I feel as if that would be unfair to him as he is trying to sell it so I dont want to share that info in fairness to him.

So in a nutshell, what is this car worth?

Just a guess, but I'll say $40k?  I'm not up to speed on the 72 prices as much as the 70 & 71.

72 Cuda w/ Auto won't probably bring that much $$$ 35-45k range I'd say and you have to find a buyer who likes the touches he has made to the car.

I know Chris (owner) too, at least through text and phone calls.  This car seems to be really fast, with a beefed up trans that cost big bucks. The engine is set up for NOS too.  It's a beautiful car as Chris only does things top notch.  However, as previously mentioned, the buyer will need to want and appreciate the value of all he has done to make this car a fast track car.  I would say this a high $30k car, and I know he has more into it than that. Heck we all have more into our cars than they are worth.

Unless your car has some sentimental value, with your situation and project in pieces and if you have a buyer, sell yours and offer Chris cash.  Then you will be driving a badass solid fast Cuda tomorrow instead of waiting months for yours to get done, and then working out all the bugs to get it right cause they are never right out of the gate.

I agree, however the resto-mods with modern Gen III Hemi's are bringing high dollars.  For now at least.

I agree, this car is a beefed go fast Barracuda not a resto-mod.  Not sure about my car, I've been verbally offered $50k but did not see any cash so talk doesn't mean much.  I would hope my car is at least $45k+ after I install Willwoods and the 4 spd OD.  Again, to your point, someone would have to like what I have done but I think there is a growing group that likes our cars but also want the reliability of a modern engine, handling, and braking.

There's seems to always be more then you plan for no matter how good you plan.  It's just part of the process.

My wife and I decided to pass on the 72 green cuda.  Maybe I'll regret this later, but she supports me on finishing my project.  It makes it a lot easier to have her support me.  She wants me to finish car the way I want to complete the project.

  We have been blessed financially so I am moving on with my dream car.  We both like Toxic Orange and I am a very competitive person so I know I will finish the project.
