489 case

I have a 489 case with 322 gears, open differential. Whats it worth?

If you were near me, I'd be willing to give you somewhere between $100-$200 for it.  I have no idea if that's "fair" but to me it's value is as a bare case.  It would be stripped and all the wear parts replaced. New Yukon cases are available for a few hundred more and fully built with new parts and SG for ~1,300.  Used 741/742 cases complete with sure-grip go for 350-500 if you look.  That's my opinion and it's worth half of what you paid for it...

I've seen prices closer to $200 and higher but I also see the same add for the higher priced cases over and over for months sometimes years.  I sold this empty 489 case for $100 last year. I possibly could have gotten more but was more interested at the time in just getting it out of my way.

Not necessarily relevant - 2020 I paid $300 for a full e-body 8 3/4 rear end with a 489 case, only had 2.76 gears. There is a yard in my area that's had a couple 489 cases for years in the $500 range and nobody's biting

Thanks for the info,I would let it go for $150.
Just have to find somebody close.
