Hi all,

It's been a long time since I was on this forum. I started a restoration thread on here with this car almost 10 years ago and I'm now considering selling the car and move on to another. I feel "done" with it now and I just can't back to the joy of wrenching and driving it. Anyway, here are some basic details:

Original BS23N1 with the matching engine long gone, I have the original 23-spline 833 that goes with the car.
Now has a fuel injected 472 Hemi (all details in the build thread here) with hydraulic roller lifters and Stage V roller rockers.
Fully ported Stage V heads.
Ceramic coated headers and 3" TTI exhaust all the way.
833 18-spline Passon overdrive transmission with a McLeod RXT twin disc clutch.
Strange S60 with 4.10 gears
Twin tag car with A22, A62 etc..
The front seats are still 71 vinyl, but I have a set of Legendary leather covers and foam that goes with the car.

How much is it worth?

Great looking car. Is it not fun to  drive? I don't know the value but I'm sure others will chime in.

Thank you!

It's a blast to drive. It needs a better tune to really shine
Biggest reason is that I just can't drive it with my family (wife thinks it's too powerful and I actually agree). I don't want to build this car again with another engine, trans etc. so I figure it's better to let it go as is and buy something different. Maybe build another more cruising friendly car.

I also miss my old car, a 68 R/T Charger.

So here I am with lots of thoughts and emotions. I did put a lot of hours and money into this car..

What's it worth?  If it had the original 383 engine, not much more than $50k.  The Hemi adds maybe another $15k to its value, so $60-80K, depending how badly the buyer wants it.

These "what's it worth" questions are very subjective as there are so many variables that effect the price of a car. Perhaps it's best to compare "apples to apples" and see what similar cars are selling for? For example, here is a similar N-code '71 Cuda with a 528 Hemi and a 4-speed that sold for $115K at last year's Mecum Indy auction. I'd say that is pretty representative of a clean, no hidden skeletons in the closet, Hemi-fide non original HemiCuda.   https://www.mecum.com/lots/1115378/1971-plymouth-cuda/?aa_id=576804-0
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

Thank you Tom for your reply! I believe you are correct.

A friend of mine sold this one to a mutal friend for $60k a few years ago. Personally I think my friend selling it sold it way too cheap, however I don't know all the details. All aluminum 572, real 340 Cuda, converted to Hemi OD 4 speed, Aluminum D60, injected.
On yours without looking at it I don't think I would sell it for less than $100k.

Hi Tunis, Is the car in Sweden? If so, it may discourage US buyers. Is the market strong for E bodies in Sweden?

EV2RTSE

This one was on ebay last year, the listing is gone but it was a real 71 340 car with a Ray Barton hemi and manual transmission, it apparently sold for 90k.

Tunis

@Finoke yes, it's in Sweden and yes, that may very well discourage some buyers.

Thanks for all replies!

Is there a fender tag?
Is there a broadcast sheet?
Any other factory documentation?

I would also guess somewhere between $90-110K; I have been eying these types of conversions for a bit and that seems to be about the going rate.  I would add some details of the build so people don't have to go search for it (brakes / suspension etc.)

@Tunis I understand the emotional part, I have been toying with the idea of ditching my project and buying something like yours but hard to give up the dream so to speak.

I would agree the car being in Sweden is going to be an issue for most.
