When I had my 73 Cuda my friends always said change the tail lights and grill and make it a 71. That still wouldn't make it a 71.  I never really liked that idea but you really should look at it a different way. Instead of calling it a clone or a year think of it more like a street rod. You take a body style that you like and modify the crap out of them. Some of them are incredible and no one minds that it not correct. As long as the end result is the look you want that's the name of the game. We just have to come up with the right name for these kind of builds. Like everything else, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

A real black 71 is worth more upfront and will pay dividends when it is done as well.
