I am wanting to purchase a set of trim rings for my rallye wheels on my 'Cuda.  I have 7" wide wheels on all 4 corners the car currently but will be purchasing 8" wide wheels for the rear. I have grown tired of the narrow 215/60/15 tires on the rear and want to put a considerably wider tire on the back of the car to fill the wheel wells.

What I understand from research and the sticky at the top of the wheel forum is the following:

1. no one makes a correct reproduction of the original trim ring
2. original rings are expensive and hard to find
3. no one makes a trim ring that will not leave a gap on a 8" wide wheel that has a 4.5" back space.

Question #1. In order to get the best fitting trim ring with a 7" wide wheel, do I need to purchase a trim ring that is 3" wide that is currently made for 15x8 wheels? I want to buy a set of trim rings that are matched set for same appearance in hopes that I can get them to at least fit the 7" wide wheels.  If this is the case, what have you guys purchased that looks good but understandably not 100% correct?  Have any of you purchased and used these from the site sponsor?  https://www.rosevillemoparts.com/product/15-x-7-polished-trim-ring-set-for-1970-b_e/

Question #2. Those of you that have 8" wide 15" wheels on your Cuda, could you please share pictures of how they look on the car?  It's my understanding that the two most common tire sizes chosen are 255/60/15 and 275/60/15.  I'd love to see pictures of both.

Question #3 Will the 275s clear without rubbing on a wheel with 4.5" backspace?  I have an stock width e-body dana 60 in the car with calvert racing split mono-leaf springs and caltracs. The lips on the quarter panels have not been rolled.

I have 15x7 front Rallyes with 225/60x15 tires and 15x8 rear Rallyes with 275/60x15 tires. Trim rings are 15x7 reproductions. Work great on front and rear.
The trim ring gap on the rear 15x8 wheels is not a problem. Most people do not even notice it.
There are no clearance issues for 275/60x15 tires with 15x8 Rallyes.

Also, I have run 245/60x15 tires on the front with standard 15x7 Rallye wheels and had zero clearance issues. I chose 225's currently on the front because I got a fantastic price on the BFGoodrich tires in that size.

Thank you so much @MoparCarGuy for the feedback and the photographs!  I want to paint my Cuda in violet so that gives me the perfect idea of what it will look like! Do you recall what brand the trim rings were?

No, I do not recall the brand/manufacturer. I have had them since 1999 and am 90% sure that I bought them from YearOne in Georgia.

Awesome, even better. Year one is 20 minutes from my house.  Thanks again for the information and your car looks great!

Hello mopar1,
I also live about 30 minutes from Year One. I'm in Gainsville, GA.
I put 15"'s on my Cuda with wheels from https://www.wheelvintiques.com/. They are the ones you see ever where like Summit.
I'm now putting 15" x 7 original ones my Challenger.
The problem is that OER is making the parts for the center caps and trim rings that you see everyone selling.
I drove to Coker to buy the parts. There web site said they had them. When I got there, they did not have them at all. They said it will take about 3 or more months before they would have them. That's because they are getting the parts from OER.
I called OER because I wanted to know why they are hard to find right now. They said they have run out of them because of medal is getting harder to find. They said it will be months before they can make new ones.
I found a set of center caps at Year One.
I found a set of Trim Rings at Classic Industries.

BTY, I have a set of Trim Rings, 15" x 3" that I bought at Carlisle. I don't think they are the ones you are looking for but they appear to fit. They have some nicks that would have to be restored.

Thanks for the information @CudaHead.  I'm in Cleveland, so I'm not too far from you. Send me a few pictures of the rings you have.  Did you have them on your car?  I understand about the steel shortage.  I work as an engineer at an automotive seal manufacturing company, and we have times where steel is hard to source.   I have 15x7 wheel vintiques on my car now.  They've been on it since 2006.  I can't recall why I didn't buy trim rings back then but it was probably because of them being hard to find.  It looks like someone would step up and make a correct reproduction of the trim rings.  They would have a monopoly on the market and make a fortune on them.

Hello,

I attended the  Cleveland Cruise on Saturday with my Corvette.

Let me know if you want these. I don't think I will ever need them.

I would be interested.  You can PM me a price if you don't want to post it in the thread.  I could probably meet you one evening this week or on the weekend.  Would somewhere halfway like Clermont work?
