Hello

My 1970 challenger rt has a 383 magnum with a31 performance axle package.

To my understanding it should have the hemi suspension package with 3.91 sure grip axle

I inspected the part number on the springs

Driverside spring part number 3400 034 I thought it should be 3400 024
Passenger side 2835382 I thought it should be 3400 034

I have attached pictures of the springs.

Possibly the one spring is installed on the wrong side, but what about the completely wrong part number on the passenger side spring?

Thanks for the help

The HD springs were part number 3400034 and 3400024.  I don't know if those were put on 383s or not.  I know they were used on 440 and 440 six pack. I'm thinking the right side had an extra leaf, thus the different part numbers.
I have a 70 N code Challenger that has 3400044 springs on both sides.
Tony's parts sells proper part number leaf's for the HD springs so if you want to build a 3400024 you can buy his leaf set.

Do you have the broadcast sheet, both numbers would be on there :alan2cents:

FWIW, I'm looking at a copy of a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Challenger RT I used to own - JS23N0B, 383HP auto, A36 perf axle package, S15 suspension.  Shows LT/driver's side spring as 034, RT/passenger spring as 024.  383 cars could have them...

correct, 1970 Challengers/Barracudas ("H"-code 340 & "N"-code 383) with the (A31 or A36) 3.91:1 or 3.55:1 ratio AXLE PACKAGEs included the (S15) EXTRA-H.D. Suspension with the 3400024 RH (passenger side) & 3400034 LH (driver's side) springs
