So I got my AAR front  Disc Brake Dust Shields back from blaster and they look terrible. Really pitted....plan on keeping them as the originals but looking for NOS or Repops if there are any good ones out there. Saw a set from a place called MCB performance but its hard to tell quality on a picture....any advice would be helpful.  Thanks in advance

My T/As were terrible too after blasting, so I used repops.  It was a long time ago, I don't recall where I got mine but they are good.  Main thing I remember wrong was the original ones have "R" and "L" stamped in them. We had to stamp the letters into the repros.

70'-71' OEM design dust shields don't work with 72' to 74' spindles which are cheaper with rotors and which most people go for.

The spindle shaft is thicker at the base which prevents the later style rotor to clear and mate onto.

Rule of  thumb:
70-71' Disc brakes'
smaller shaft spindles use exclusive earlier rotors. The flat type dust shields

72' to 74' Disc brakes:
Thicker base rotor shaft; using late style rotors (different I.D. bearing)
Ribbed Dust shield

Hope that makes sense.

I use them all the time on 72-74 spindles, just trim off the center raised portion.

I figured the original posted restoring his AAR likely has the original spindles, but if not the shields I posted can be made to fit. :D

Yes I noticed That....do NOS come up for the flat type dust shields very often? Is it worth the wait cause last time I bought a repop  parts from specific places the quality was either terrible (Trim rings) or manufactured recall (Moog K791 bushings) so asking a lot more questions these days.

I doubt finding NOS ones will be easy. It likely wasn't something that was often "serviced" back in the day. I believe the ones I buy are/were manufactured by/for Dale's Cuda Shop. They are pretty heavy duty and a really nice piece. :alan2cents:
