While trying to get my power booster and pedal linkage reinstalled, the spring in the picture below had a calamitous failure.

Anyone know who might have one of these? "Spring, Power Brake Lever Push Rod" pn 2534228.   Neither Google, nor my key suppliers (including Roseville) seem to have it listed.   Used on both B and E bodies from what I can find.  In the parts book diagram it's spring 5-100-15.

Looks pretty similar to some other springs out there, but I don't trust that pretty similar = workable.

Thanks for any leads!

Edit- added a web picture I found of the assembly (a pretty rusty one)

Any junk/parts yards around where you live? Seems like that would be a fairly common part. What about a hardware store replacement?

I've been looking for a standard hardware replacement, but it's a pretty stout spring.  I may try a local machine/welding/spring shop and see if they can fashion a workable anchor.  It broke right at the point where the loop goes through the upper bracket.

There used to be a large Mopar yard in northern IL, but no longer.  Worst case, I'll call Alabama next week and see if they can scrounge one from an E or B body for me.

If this had broken earlier, I could have put it on the "Carlisle parts watch" list. :-)

There is one on ebay.Type in cuda power brake spring.

Thanks, B5fourspeed!  Yep- found that one later in the day.

Seems a bit pricey with the shipping for a reproduction spring, unless the specs are spot on, as without the e-body/b-body premium the clutch and brake return springs on the general parts market are under $12. Trying to see if I can find who else might have that available.

Did you check with Brewer's? They don't focus on brakes but they certainly do a lot with pedal assemblies.  Also, Byron Fetig is a good source for original small parts.

Main function seems to be to draw the pedal up completely for the power brake cars to fully disengage the brake light switch.
