Brake cable removal - the saga continues

Yes Alan I could probably pull the knob off the end. No idea how I would put it back on so it would hold though

Wait a minute....you're working with a 1971+ cable ? Both ends are the same, just turn the whole cable around

The housing is the same on either end. The cable itself has this bend in it. My original cable was the same. Can't turn it around or I would have

They are not supposed to be bent  If the bend works in your favor, straighten the bent end out and bend the other end.

Not to mention...once there's tension on the cable....she ain't going to be bent for long
