Hey guys, I thought I had seen a thread about the correct finishes for every thing under the car, but after searching I came up empty. Am I dreaming or was there a one stop list of all the finishes? I'm referring to all the suspension components, bumper brackets etc.  :help:

A good rule of thumb is that 90% of things underneath the car were NEVER painted, and most never coated, just plain bare steel....
So if you want longevity, you can prep everything clean and powder coat the bare metal, OR paint the items their corresponding colour ...Cast parts cast grey, steel parts steel silver, etc....really very few things were painted black....
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

True. The under finish changed a lot from showroom to a few weeks later after driving on the road.
That is why a #1 quality restoration immediately becomes a #2 after you drive it down the road.
Remember that the parts installed at the factory were not in packages but in bins with a bunch of other like parts so scratches and dings were there before the parts were even installed. Not custom but assembled by the thousands...You can use products like
