I am trying to find/locate a date code for the hard-to-find disk brake master cylinder for the Cuda AAR and the Challenger TA's. The number casting is 2229171 Any help is appreciated.

It's stamped in the left side of the casting. Often hard to read or obliterated on castings that were rusted.

Thanks, I will take a closer look and report back of what I find.

Just to clarify, the date code stamping is in the bottom row of two rows of numbers.  This was the assembly date of the master cylinder.
There is also a number cast in the bottom of the casting that is a date code for when the casting was made.  But the assembly date is the critical date as that is when the part was manufactured and was ready to be delivered to the assembly plant.
This one has a date code of "3 173" which is 173rd day of 1973

I did a second take on the numbers and found a few. Hard to actually see what they all are as they are stamped very lightly. I will try and get some number and post them here for some estimate of date(s). thanks for the help on this
