Front 11 x 3 HD Brakes

The hub face should be as clean as the front of the drum. Wire brush or 3M roloc fiber disc on an air grinder. should be almost polished metal for a good metal to metal contact between the hub face and the inside if the drum.
That shoulder on the studs that you see would normally be pressed onto the drum and would be flat.
How do the surface of the shoes look ? How much of the shoe is contacting the drum ?

Thanks.  I'll get that hub cleaned up.  This is my first drum brake job and you can tell.  The shoe wear looks really good and as far as I can see they are making good contact.  They look like new with about 100 miles and no unusual signs of wear.  Thanks for the explanation of the hub studs.
