My 72 Barracuda is getting close to being done. Went to install a Hellwig sway bar, car didn't have one. I realized the car has a different k member not sure from what. There is no coin or numbers but it is not cut correctly for sway bar. Unless its one that doesn't go through k member and hangs below. Were there any e bodies this way or is from something else?

Can you post up pictures of your K frame?
Maybe it's an earlier frame from a b-body.

that appears to be a 1969 or earlier B-body K-frame, are there holes on the forward edge where this sway bar is attached?

I believe all 5 years of V8 E-body K-frames should look like this '70 B-body unit from the bottom (skid plate only on 440HP, 440+6 & HEMI)

here's an AAR

I agree, you don't have an E Body K member in there, which is odd...

I guess it is a 69 and under b body. It does have sway bar holes up front instead. It was in car when I got it. I may cut and box it in for sway bar if everything else is the same. Everything else fit fine except the bar. I don't have steering column in yet but it was in the car before.

Why not use a b body sway bar? Wouldn't it bolt right in? :dunno:

Not sure with these QA1 control arms and I spent a lot on this Hellwig bar that the guy isn't really nice about trying to help me. I will look into it

look how wide the '69 style B-body sway bar is - it would interfere with your forward mount brake calipers
the other difference E VS. B body K-frame is the angle of the steering box & idler arm mounts, minor difference that all the joints & steering coupler can handle but clearances are a little different

Crusty

Yes, I thought there was some angle differences  in steering. Maybe I will look for another k member then
