I've got the old lower control arm bushings out on my 73 challenger, and have bead blasted and painted the LCA's.
Can anyone pass on hints or tips on installing the new LCA bushing into the LCA?

I think you need to ensure you removed the outer shell of the bushing from the lca, then just use a press to push them in. It was 20 years ago for me, I don't remember having too much difficulty once I located someone with a press.

I have a 12 ton press; just wasn't sure if I press the pin into the bushing; then that assembly into the LCA, or press the bushing into the LCA and then press the pin into that.
The first version I'm thinking would be nicer on the bushing.

I have done it bushing first & pin second but either way will work if you have a sleeve long enough to go over the pin

Push the pin into the bushing first if you dont do the pin first you will have to support the bushing bottom thru the torsion bar side while pressing which is a hassle and increases the chance of ruining the bushing. After the pin is pressed into the bushing I used a galvanized pipe nipple the same OD as the steel lip on the bushing then press the assembled bushing and into place. Piece of cake.

The correct way is pin into the bushing first :alan2cents:

Piece of advice check the pin to bushing fit before installing the entire bushing. Im having issues with the pin being loose in the bushing.

Mine both had to be pressed into the bushing
