Hi Everybody,

I have to rebuild my master cylinder, all I could find was dorman for the 2229171. The master has the correct numbers on it, but the cover is an after market with the big stamp of writing. Anyone know where I can find an original 1970 Dodge challenger RT/SE cover?

Thanks
Mike

Only place for a lid that I can think of is the Ramman, I would suggest paying by paypal goods & services if dealing with him I've heard of some having a tough time of it.

The only other thing I could maybe suggest would be try and find a lid off of a 71-75 master cylinder, 3461187.

To my knowledge the caps are same on all the Mopar disc brake MCs from 70-74.
Ram-man is sketchy. I don't know if I'd buy anything from him except in person at a show...maybe.
In 70 the caps were in fact stamped, but not with all the info you see on the more recent replacement caps.  Original ones have a call-out for J1703 brake fluid. Resto Rick has a service where he can stamp the correct call out in an unstamped cap.
I posted about sorting through my stash of brake parts stuff today, and I think I have a used unstamped cap I can part with, PM me here with your email.

Thanks for the heads up, I bookmarked the web site. I may have an unstamped lid that could be sent in.

Thanks
