My Frontend Alignment Specs.

Went and got the old girl aligned today.

Thoughts on what we got too???

See to drive nice.

1974 Cuda. 360 / A500 OD.  Yes its pink, no its not my wife's car!  Yes I drive it.

Is that with stock upper arms?        or offset kit?          I love my QA1 arms that got me 3 degrees of caster.

Sorry to be harsh but I'd rather tell the truth...

You got a typically tire store tech, not a performance oriented guy.... Even with stock parts he should have been able to do better...

Your tires should last a long time.. But since they are gonna age out long before they wear out I tend to cheat toward handling & performance & have less concern about tire wear...

Yes stock upper arms, moog offset bushings, stock lowers, poly bushings and adjustable  QA1 strut rods.

I am a big boy, I can take it.  I appreciate the feedback.

Interesting, I asked them to use the 06 Mustang specs, and get them as close as possible or better, so I guess it is what it is.

I am going to put some miles on it and see how it feels.

SO what would I ask them to do if I redo it?

Hold On!! I Screwed up... Read you sheet wrong..... Actually your numbers look pretty good..


Take a look under the hood of your car.... I shoot for maximum caster, to accomplish that the adjuster eccentrics should be pushing the front of the A arm all the way out & the rears should be pulling the A arm all the way in.... In order to set the camber you compromise the caster some but not much...

And I try to shoot for .75-1 degree negative Camber, you had more camber when you took the car in then you do now... 

Here's the deal, Caster isn't a tire wearing angle so way too much doesn't hurt anything & with the design of the Mopar suspension you can't get very much anyway so take all you can get...

Caster causes the car to track straight down the road at highway speed & it causes the steering to return to center more crisply....

Camber, yes it's a tire wearing angle so if you get aggressive it'll eat tires but for that we're talking 3 degrees or more... One degree will increase tire wear but it'll be negligible...  As I said before your tires are gonna age out long before they wear out....  A little aggressive corner carving just means you throw away tires with a little less tread...  Smoky burnouts for the rear tires & hard corners for the front...

Negative camber means the top of the tire leans in slightly, so naturally the bottom of the tire where it contacts the road leans out...  that means as you corner the weight of the vehicle plants the tire rather than trying to roll it over...

And toe, well on a street car you leave it slightly toed in a little.... Toed in is easier to keep going straight, toed out tends to follow road imperfections, it feels twitchy... Not very confidence inspiring for a street car... But in a race car toed out turns quicker

So to review Caster as much positive caster as possible, stock you should be able to get 1+ degree, with offset bushings I've routinely hit 3+ and had a few cars hit 5 degrees...

Camber .75-1 degree negative

Toe 1/8-1/4" toed in...
