Original Wheel Question

Getting ready to have my rims blasted and powder coated. Quoted at $150 each. The odd thing is the back of them appears to be black, the front is the expected argent color. In order to stay true to original, how should I do these? Also looking for comments on the date code. Not sure where a part number would be. Perhaps inside after I have the tires pulled? Maybe I'm fooling myself and they aren't original. Broadcast sheet calls for rally, SPD 11/4/69.

I usually have them powder coated black and then I spraypaint the argent silver on the front. It is not supposed to be masked so argent overspray through the spokes and onto the black is the way they came from the factory.

Few things here. The colour "argent silver" is the colour of the centre caps, not the rim. Also, those rims are not original to your car, if they were, they would all have the same identical date, and they would not be AFTER the SPD of your car.

Well they most likely would have the same date code.  There's always a chance several batches of wheels got mixed together on the line, or they started in on a fresh pallet of wheels in the midst of doing assembly or sub assemblies on the line.
Also if 3 wheels were pre SBD and one was shortly after, it's possible that a wheel was found to be defective in post build inspection and fixed several weeks later with a new wheel.
Things go wrong all the time on assembly lines so there are no absolutes when it comes to date codes.

Powder coat or paint the entire wheel black then spray the front of the wheels with DCC 3960 Silver Poly single stage paint.

For the black paint, use PPG DP Epoxy black.

Not sure where a part number would be.

Looks to be 2944252 which would be correct for a 1970 14 x 5.5" rallye wheel

the 10 - 31 - 1969 wheels could be correct originals for your 11 - 4 - 1969 R/T,  I would find a 4th

@EV2RTSE How/Where do you identify the correct wheel application based on Pn? I did some google searches but not much luck (most on eBay don't give that detail).

I have two 14/5.5 Rallye's, one is #3699476 and the other is #3580458. I've had a lot of Mopars over the past 40+ years and no idea what they came off of. Thinking about selling them and don't want to misrepresent.

Galen's little white book should have the list of rim part numbers and their application...the higher number #3699... is a newer model, likely an Aspen/Volare or something

@70vert Offhand I don't know of any website that has a comprehensive list, just took notes over the years. Agree that the part numbers in question seem to be off of mid-later 70's stuff.
