Parking brake cables- old vs new (and related rear brake work)

While putting in a missing firewall insulation piece by the parking brake (thanks DMT) I found the parking brake studs through the firewall were broken off.  Which led to trying to loosen the 52 year old equalizer with obvious consequences.

Care to guess the 52 year old cable (that had to be cut) from the new Inline tube set from Roseville (which they actually had in stock!)

On a positive note, gave me a chance to clean up the parking brake assembly as well.

The set arrived today and they are an exact match.  Good to see some of the quality parts that are out there.

Looking forward to finishing off my rear brake clean up and detailing now that all the parts are falling into place.
