So I have a stage 3 steering box being delivered today from firm feel, looking for opinions on using power steering fluid vs type F ATF.  Firm feel says it should be ok.  Lines and pump are not being replaced but were flushed.  I've got plenty of ATF on hand would need to get off my butt and get PSF if I go that route.  What say you?

Does Firm Feel have a recommendation ? If it's their box, I would use what they suggest  :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

More lubrication additives in PS fluid I would think, also most likely easier on the seals. I would go PS fluid for sure.

Hydraulic fluids are pretty similar and most will work ok in a lot of applications, but if it was me I'd use power steering fluid in my power steering.

Thanks for the comments.  Firm feel said ATF would be ok but I now tend to think PS fluid would be easier on the seals and a better choice.

Agree. Put in the fluid the manufacturer recommends, have fun and good luck!

From the FSM...  Though to be honest I've used ATF many times with zero issues..
