primary brake shoes

Looking for input here . My first thought was that the primary shoe must be the largest one. After reading turns out counter to my intuition the primary is the smallest shoe. So to clear up any confusion does the  primary (smallest ) shoe always face the front on e bodies? Thanks

Short shoe is alway the front shoe....  Think of it this way, draw a line from the very top end of the lining of the rear shoe too the very top of the lining of the front shoe.....  Now draw another line from the very bottom of the lining of the rear shoe to the very bottom of the lining of the front shoe....  If you allow those two lines to continue till they intersect those two lines should form an arrow that points to the front of the car...
