I have a set of 15" rallye wheels that I want to have powder coated.  I talked to a local company that does powder coating, and they use paint from a company called Prismatic Powders.  I have looked through their color selections, but am unsure of which color is closet to the original rallye silver color.  The local powder coater company also said they could match the rallye silver color if I could provide them the "formula".

Has anyone used Prismatic Powders for rallye wheels?  If so, what color did you use?  Does anyone know of another powder coating product that has the correct rallye silver color?  Anyone have a "formula" for the rallye silver color?  Is the original rallye silver paint color considered to be a semi-gloss?

Should the inside of the rallye wheel be painted black?  If so, to replicate original factory color should the inside be painted flat black, semi-gloss, or other?

Thanks for the help.
Gary.

To be restored correctly they should be totally painted in semi gloss paint, then the fronts sprayed with argent silver which blows through the cooling vents and oversprays on the black which you just tidily painted on the inside of the rims. When I tried to get my last few sets powdercoated in two colours the powdercoaters told me that the powdercoating makes a heck of a primer to paint over and to just have them powdercoat them all over in black and then I spraypainted the argent silver on the fronts.

Years ago I had some rallye's powdercoated silver and a clear coat as well, they put it on so thick that the trim rings would not stay on. Ended up die grinding the heck out of them just to install the trim rings.
My recommendation, sandblast them and paint  them yourself.
My local Dodge dealership sells argent silver paint for wheels over the counter.
