17" X 12" ...YEA BABY ! :bradsthumb:

So these are for the back of the resto-mod AAR I'm building....My first time doing a mini-tub so I'm pretty excited to see those 345 tires on the back of there....HOWEVER of course, I wanted the factory look, and I love those YearOne 17" rallies.....so here we go, I had Weldcraft Wheels make these custom made rims...first one of their kind... :twothumbsup: Quality of their work is incredible !

Cool...don't know about first of their kind...A friend of mine took original rallyes and had the same treatment done. He was tubbing his '70 440 'cuda back in about '85, '86.

I was referring to the new YearOne 17" rallies, this was their first set. I agree, widening rims is nothing new....  :console: :drinkingbud:

That is going to look great!  What tire brand/size is going on those?  I've been considering mini-tubbing mine with a 17 or 18" diameter rim but am worried about the availability of tires in the 315-345 widths.  I can get a 295 or 305 under there without substantial surgery but I really WANT something wider.

I went with TOYO Proxies to get the height I was after, I didn't want "rubber bands" on the back. The 345/40/R17 has good height ....

Because they are going on an AAR, I took these photos of the TOYOs next to a factory rear G60X15 Polyglas...for comparison...

They are out getting mounted right now  :banana: :banana:

I'm not worried about clearance, because we're going to build the car around the wheels...starting with RMS inboard rear suspension kit first. Using reproduction factory wheel wells. I bought ne outers and two sets of inners....JUST BEFORE AMD decided to release their version of the wider E Body tub... :headbang:  but I think our idea will be better, because we can make it as wide as we have to...

Dang, that should look incredible.   
Didn't know AMD made that 3" wider inner wheel house.  If that was available two years ago I would have had put them in when I had my Dynacorn rear floor/frame module installed.  It was wide open and would have been easy.  At this point I probably need to concentrate on getting it back on the road as-is and consider the tubs for a future winter project.

That's very cool!  I love extra wide rims!    A word of caution:  I don't know what you're doing for rear brakes/calipers, but... that style of rim may have a common problem with the calipers hitting the inside edges of the rim spokes... it's only with these style/design of rims that the problem can occur.   The size of the caliper and the positioning of them (offset location) is the factor.  IF needed.. if the problem occurs... you could try to file down the caliper outside edges to clear the inside of the rim spokes, or else, install a spacer between the rim and the axle.   Just my offer of "words of caution".  MoPower to ya!

I've been using these rims with Wilwood 12.9 rotors and four piston calipers with no issues, widening them shouldn't make a difference :thinking:

They will look great under the car. I have 315's and people comment on them all the time. 345's will be killer

I don't really remember what size tire my buddy went with back then, but from the rear all you could see was rubber and diff...nothin' else.
