Okay fellow members I'm trying to remove my torsion bars so I can drop the K frame. Clips are removed, bump steer is undone, tie rod is split, adjustment bolts are undone, connecting nut in front of LCA is off...

How the 🤬 do I get the torsion bar off?!?! Tried hitting the bolt that comes thru the front of the LCA, tried a 4ft prybar between the LCA and frame to pull us back. So far nothing is working... HELP!

Mine mostly came out when I dropped the lower control arms.   If you're planning to reuse the torsion bars, you'll want to be careful to avoid dinging up the outside of the TBs with vice grips or whatever.   There is a clamp-on tool that I bought from Mancini (but never used) which provides a surface to hammer on to knock them out.   I've slept a few times since I removed mine (they were being replaced), but I recall having to use a brass drift pin and hammering on the rear end side of the torsion bars to get it out the last little bit.

If these keep giving you headaches, PM me your address and I'll send you the tool.

Dumb question. Strut rod... disconnect it? I'm assuming so to drop the LCA more.

If you just remove the nut from the control arm pivot & pry the lower control arm back it will usually move far enough to get the trosion bar out without undoing the strut rod too , once the lower control arm pivot is loose it can also change angle a bit which often helps to get the bar released

Update: Bars are off! Did have to loosen the strut bars though to get the LCAs pryed far enough back. Thanks for the quick replies and help everyone!!!

Yup: Sometimes I smack the bars forward a smidge just to get them moving before prying them out the back. I've never used the special tool that clamps on the bar.
