Now that I have your attention  My 70 RT (440 Auto car, 8-3/4 SG) has 64,000 well-documented miles, yet 30 years of combined heated storage. The leaf springs look good, but the car has indeed been sitting on them for 50 years. It also has a non original 3.91 and I'd like to bring it back to 3.23 per build sheet. I'd want it all to be functionally correct and also cosmetically fresh, the latter I'm fully capable of. Any suggestions or direction will be appreciated.

I suggest you hook me up with the 3.91's.  :ohyeah:

Not out of the question. I was considering running it as a test before I decide. The old guy that owned it before me last drove it in 2001. He just grinned and said "if you try it, you'll keep it. It's a tire smokin' SOB"

If you are old enough to remember back when they were new, they sat low in the rear on the lot. If you want to  get her level or want a slight rake you will need to actually get them re-arched a bit. Remember that Hi-jackers and long shackles ruled the day back then.

I was expecting a more 'interesting' thread.....

Not really sure what the question is, but if you are asking about leaf springs, Mopar XHD would be my suggestion.
If you are wondering about gearing, I agree with your 3.23 direction. 3.91's are fun for a while, but really are a pain for hwy/cruise.

@dodj it's all about marketing!  8) and yes you answered my question perfectly. This is my third 440 RT. The first was a 3.23 with a 727 and seemed about perfect.
