MKA

I got an open box version of one of these from Amazon for 16 bucks.  Made the install with a ratchet a breeze.   I know the washers do the same but I found this effortless.

Stud install for dummies was me

i am no expert. i have never run a shop. but i have put in at least a thousand. line the splines up on the stud [the axle may have spline slots from the old stud!] use a little grease and stack some grade 8 hard washers.  check to be square in the hole. tighten it up. if you fear the stud will snap off, simply do not exceed the stud rating. stock Mopar in 1970 is 65 ft.lbs and a torque wrench is the perfect tool for that job. if you really want to get hi tech, use a stud installer. you can buy it here> https://www.amazon.com/Lisle-22800-Wheel-Stud-Installer/dp/B000ETUD22/ref=asc_df_B000ETUD22?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80401840125252&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584001418786830&psc=1      i would not waste my money.

Wheel  stud removal is easy. Wheel stud installation is much more critical.
For in the field,  or emergency replacement,  washers or that bearing'd tool  from MKA will work.
One must be careful  that the stud is fully seated. Appling only  the recommended torque may not be enough to seat the flange fully.  Then the stud can work in during driving,  losing wheel torque.

Proper installation is in a press with a mandrel to support the axle flange.

"Then the stud can work in during driving,  losing wheel torque"  You are absolutely right, and that's why they recommend re-torquing the wheels after driving 20-30 miles on them. Besides, unless you're replacing all 5, one could literally fall off and you won't go off the road. I know that may be seen as blasphemy, but it's also just the truth. Have fun!
