Fronts wheels are used for steering.

Cool little cars. I did not know they even existed until seeing one on American Pickers some time back. I think you would look cool driving that around the track in Portland at the swap meet.   :wowzers:

Wow !! Cool car.. :bigthumb:   It looks to be in great shape and should turn out to be a fun project... You will get a lot of attention when it hits the road again...And you won't have any trouble finding a parking spot on your trips in town...

Chryco Psycho

Different for sure . I will not say what I am thinking though  :-X

If it weren't for Steve Urkle,  I would never have known about these cars.  I think they are adorable and look forward to watching it come to life.  :stayinlane:

Life is to be viewed thru the windshield. Not rear view mirror.
You are the only one in charge of your destiny.

:veryexcited:  No Joke, that engine video you posted Mike probably has more HP then the stock 13 that Isetta came with!   :haha:

Very Cool Project!! A very good friend of mine picked one up missing the engine, his plan was to do an electric motor, not my thing but he lived in the village of Cambria & for that area it would be able to go all around town on a single charge.... Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago & his wife unloaded the car...

Topcat

Any progress on this @J-Code Jeni ?

Love to  hear how it's coming along?

If you super charge it, you can get both front wheels off the ground.  :D

I remember reading about a guy who swapped a motorcycle engine in one. It could really scoot.

Engine is being rebuilt right now...  Have not started body work yet.  :wrenching:

J-Code Jeni

Thanks for asking @Topcat & Cody shared the status- we sent the engine to NJ about 2 months ago to be rebuilt. We have a few too many friends cars in the workshop to tear apart another car in there but man, I'm itching too!

J-Code Jeni

We got the restored engine back!! Such a cutie... one spark plug & all!  :D  Some minor bumps with shipping which was quickly fixed by swapping out two tweaked transmission bolts. Overall, she made the cross country trip in a reinforced cardboard box pretty well!

The next step is tearing apart the car but, we need to encourage a few friends to take their cars home in order to do it  :-[ so, we'll wait a bit longer before doing that.

MEK-Dangerous

That car looks like it came right out of a Disney movie.

Good luck with it!
