Yup: And Sooner it is welded up and complete the better.
Your whole attitude is going to brighten when it looks like a Cuda again. Then you can take it easy on the bank account for awhile. The point you are at just before Welding it back into a car is the lowest point as you are experiencing. The bad side of prepping an assembled car is taping everything and fighting dust but not insurmountable.

I kind of feel like mocking everything up prior to paint is a good idea anyway - and maybe I will just drive the sh*t outta it in AMD black - So Cal weather it could live like that for a LONG time.....
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

I can't really call mine AMD black, $hit black may be more appropriate, but that's where I am.  I've got an AMD trunk pan, drop offs, and two full quarters in the basement, but at this point don't have the time to install them.  I'm pretty certain to open a can of tin worms like you did (vinyl top car), and fear losing steam and selling the thing as an unfinished project in boxes to Runcharger (except that he's more of a Challenger guy).  So for now, I'm keeping it together and driving it, and only committing to smaller-scale projects with less snowball potential.

Keep at it and good luck! :wrenching:

Any opinions on painting the underside / interior shell and engine bay and getting the car together for final exterior paint later?

I shot the underside with epoxy and then I undercoated.I sprayed undercoating on the inside of the quarter panels before I welded them on.I used single stage paint in the trunk and the inside.I used 2 stage paint inside the engine compartment when I painted the rest of the car.Any novice painter can spray the single stage. It is hard to mess up the inside and trunk

I may do just that.....thanks.... hoping to get the engine bay and underside sprayed so I can put the damn thing together!
