Wow! I took a look at the setup you needed to run that thing and it boggled my imagination. I remember the day when a pair of battery cables, coil wire jumper, pop bottle/hose for gas and the thing would run. It sure looks trick and I hope it all goes in well for you guys as well!  :bigthumb:
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

You are an awesome dad.  I love the fact you are doing this together.  I am assuming your son is responsible as that is a lot of horses to be under a young man.  Looks like you are "all in"

No turning back now.  Looks like you are ready for the PNW elements.

Cool to see and hear it run but I only bought the engine. Didn't want or need all the extra stuff.

Not that awesome. I get to do this with my son and I'm pretty sure I am enjoying this every bit as much as he is, maybe more. He is a great kid with a huge heart and a very cautious and courteous driver. I would not put him behind the wheel of this much car if I did not trust him completely. The idea was to each have a car to take to shows or Friday Night Cruise. This one may need to go to the track a few times too.
Definitely not a daily driver for at least a couple years. Then it will be up to him.
He's already talking about putting a blower on it.

I hope my boys turn out like your son.  He sounds like a great kid.  Mine are 1 and 7, the 7 your old smacked into a brand new parked Camaro within 2 minutes of letting him ride on the street for the first time.  I knocked on the door and a huge guy came out and I was like oh no.... you got to be kidding me.

He insisted that I don't pay him to repair his Fender which was pretty damaged.  I found out later that night he plays for the NFL.   True story.

This is quite the build, first class. :clapping: Love the oversized pallet idea seems ideal to test all components before install. That is just smart and simplicity at its best.
Love how the engine build is being documented with pics showing methods and parts used, man I've never had an engine built, but that just seems like high standards being set and achieved.  :perfect10: Just Wow
Can't wait till its done, will be an impressive car when done.

Never heard of Cleveland Power and Performance until I came across this 6.1 Pallet on Facebook.
I traded some FB IM's on Sunday, looked for some reviews, found they have a lot of happy customers.
Talked over the choices out there with Dylan and we agreed to see if we could get this engine without the pallet.
I had always told him he could choose the engine and pay for it... His bank account is a bit lighter today!
And he is still on the hook for 50% of the total project cost. He does get my labor for free though.   8)
So I phoned Tim at CP&P on Monday and made a deal for just the engine minus the pallet but with all the front accessories.
Seeing all of the detailed assembly photos plus seeing and hearing it run on the pallet takes some of the mystery out of what we are getting for our $6800
Tim told me he would take lots of pictures when they start to disassemble it to crate and ship and that he would email pictures and a complete list of what is being shipped and what is not to make sure we agree before it ships.
The complete pallet was listed on EBay for $8250 and on their website for $7995 + shipping
Don't know what the shipping would have been for the complete 6'x6' pallet but I'm sure it would be a lot more than just the complete "Crate" engine.

A Pace Performance 460 HP 5.7 had been the plan but they discontinued their Hemi Crate Engines.
Then this one popped up so...   :ohyeah:
